How to Use a Chromebook

Chromebook Fundamentals

CONNECT TO THE INTERNET

Open your Chromebook and it should start searching for a internet signal in your house.
A phone, HotSpot,  STI Sierra Tele Internet account, or your Cable/Satellite account.
Click on the signal you want to use and enter your password.

LOG INTO GOOGLE

Enter your child's first initial and last name (the name they are registered at school with) 
and the last four numbers of their school ID followed by @yosemiteusd.org
If you are using a District Chromebook you will not need to enter @yosemiteusd.org
Your teacher can send you the 4 digits School ID and the password for this account in a separate email.

When using Google Classroom or Clever, you will need your student's Google Account

JOIN A CLASS VIDEO CALL

Your teacher will be using either Google Meet or Zoom for their online meetings. 
After you log into Google, the next screen that should appear is Clever,.  This is our school's dashboard links.
Scroll down to Coarsegold and click on the Classroom icon.
You should be automatically linked to Clever with your school username.
Click on the classroom icon  you want to join
A Classroom banner will give you the Google Meet link.  
If the banner only has the name of the class and teacher's name then go to Classwork in the 
upper tabs and find the meet or zoom link there.

HOW TO BOOKMARK YOUR FAVORITE PAGES

Bookmarks are stored on your Google Chrome Web Browser or ChomeBar.
When signed into Chrome, a smaller icon will show in the the top search bar to the right.

HOW TO RIGHT CLICK ON A CHROMEBOOK

The pad on your Chromebook is the same as a LEFT CLICK on a mouse.
